Car Seat Headrest Drop New Single ‘Martin’ From Forthcoming Album

Car Seat Headrest have given us another taste of their forthcoming album, in the form of a new single that frontman Will Toledo says is “one of the favourite songs [I’ve] ever written.”

The release is called ‘Martin’ and it comes with a lyric video featuring Toledo as the character of ‘Trait’, and he appears to be practicing good COVID-19 hygiene in his robber gloves and mask.

The chorus of the track is dominated by gorgeous harmonies that we’ve come to expect from Car Seat Headrest, inter spliced with notably off-beat snare underneath a driving rhythm. Oh and there’s some trumpet for good measure!

It’s the second single from forthcoming record Making A Door Less Open, due for a release on May 1. It will be Car Seat Headrest’s first full length LP since 2016’s Teens Of Denial.

The 10-track record is a collaboration between Car Seat Headrest and Toledo’s side project with drummer Andrew Katz called 1 Trait Danger.

Toledo has signified that the record will be very individualistic in terms of tracks, with each song set to have its own “special energy”.

It will be released in three versions for digital, vinyl and CD releases
