Caribou Confirms Free DJ Sets In Australia This Weekend

Caribou has officially confirmed that he will extend his recently-wrapped tour of Australia with a series of free DJ sets on the east coast of Australia over the coming weekend. “You don’t need to sign up – just show up,” said Caribou figurehead Dan Snaith in a brief statement confirming the sets. “I’m playing long sets, because I’ve got so much music I want to play for you.”

The run kicks off tomorrow on Thursday, January 9th at the Torquay Hotel on Victoria’s surf coast with Eddie Example from 8pm. A solo, five-hour DJ set will follow the next day at Melbourne’s Federation Square from 7pm, before Snaith heads to Sydney’s Manning House with recent tourmate Harry Hayes on Saturday night from 6pm. The run will conclude with a late afternoon session at Byron Bay’s Beach Hotel, where Snaith will be joined by Jagwar Ma‘s Jono Ma, Bradley Zero and DJ Moxies – which will kick off from 5pm.

Caribou – ‘Got To Change’

Caribou’s Australian tour concluded last night (January 7th) with a performance on the south lawn of Fremantle Arts Centre. Over the past weekend, Snaith took to social media to say that he “never want[s] to leave” Australia. He then asked if he should “stay longer and do some DJ pop-ups”. This suggestion resulted in Caribou’s Instagram DMs being flooded, which Snaith later shared with the caption: “Got the message. Working on something, stay tuned.”
