Sad news for music lovers on the Central Coast today, as beloved venue Proud Mary’s has announced that it is closing next month.
In a post on Facebook, the venue revealed that it’ll be shutting its doors at the start of June before undergoing renovations, with plans to re-open later this year.
“Mary is sad to have to inform you that as of June 1st 2019, Proud Mary’s will be closing its doors,” the statement reads.
“This decision has come from new venue management, who have plans to renovate the venue and re open later this year. We will keep you updated with these plans as they happen!!!”
“We’d like to thank you all for the memories…Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened. Bye for now, PM.”
There’s still one last hurrah, though. Forward-thinking dance music wizard Roland Tings will be playing the venue this Saturday, 25th May, so make sure your there to give a farewell to this iconic Coastie venue.
