Chookie Release Their June Mixtape From KLP

The team from Sydney-born, internationally based boutique indie label Chookie are chuffed to announce the label’s June Mixtape is ready to be experienced, now that DJ extraordinaire KLP has had her way with it. The 15-track mixtape is sure to see you through even the most vicious of hump days and you needn’t go any further than Music Feeds to hear it.

Kristy Lee Peters or KLP to you, is a name that is starting to surface more and more within the Sydney scene. As a producer, and guest vocalist, KLP has left her mark on releases from established artists such as Pnau, D-Cup and Tonight Only. Back in May, KLP dropped her debut EP Revolution through Chookie, starting a friendship that is proving to deliver great things to music lovers.

Through their releases and mixtapes, Chookie will be making a stand against the homogeneous nature of modern music. Too many artists are happy to settle for the middle of the road sound to mimic their inspirations but Chookie rip that up, pumping a vibe that’s totally fresh and very much overdue.

Their June Mixtape below – all that’s left is to crank it, and sit back. You’ll also notice below the track list both tunes Slow Jam (co-written and produced by Joyride) and Down South (co-written and produced by Ta-Ku) are available for free download. Score!

You can witness KLP doing her thang live at MUM @ World bar, this Friday 21st June from 10pm.
