Chvrches Release New ‘Hunger Games’ Track ‘Dead Air’

Scottish electronic trio Chvrches have unveiled their synth-heavy contribution to the Lorde-curated Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1 soundtrack, with a new song entitled Dead Air.

Chvrches has performed the track previously at live shows for a few months now under several fantastic working titles, including Richard Pryor, Gene Wilder, and Eddie Murphy. With its official title Dead Air, the track will now appear on Lorde’s Mockingjay soundtrack.

The full soundtrack will also feature contributions by the likes of Bat for Lashes, The Chemical Brothers, Major Lazer, Raury and Kanye West. Lorde’s solo track Yellow Flicker Beat will be on there, while Stromae’s track for the film, Meltdown, features four guests, including Lorde once again, plus Pusha T, Q-Tip, and Haim.

Chvrches seem to be making waves in the soundtrack game of late. They also recently crafted a song called Get Away for the new Drive soundtrack rework curated by BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1 soundtrack is due to be released on Friday, 14th November. Listen to the Chvrches contribution below.
