Cold Chisel Announce “Intimate” Canberra Warm-Up Show

Aussie rock royalty Cold Chisel have just announced a one-off show which will mark their first live outing together in nearly three years.

The Jimmy Barnes-fronted band will play what’s described as an “intimate” show at Canberra’s 2500-capacity Royal Theatre next month. It will act as a warm-up for their huge headline set at Adelaide’s Clipsal 500, which will celebrate 40 years of Cold Chisel.

“There’s a great energy about really seeing the whites of people’s eyes at gigs like this”, Jimmy Barnes said of the intimate show adding, “It’s always that bit more intense.”

It’s been promised that the setlist for the ACT will be one of the longest yet, with classics mixed in with a few new tunes. The show will be exclusive in every sense of the word with the band adding that the Adelaide and Canberra shows will be their only gigs for now.

Cold Chisel are set to head back into the studio after the shows to finish their new album which is slated for release at the end of this year. It will follow 2012’s No Plans which rocketed to number two on the ARIA Charts upon release.

Tickets to the Canberra show go on sale at 10am on Tuesday, 3rd February, with Cold Chisel mailing-list pre-sale available from 10:00am on Monday, 2nd February. We’d advise you jump on them very quickly as a speedy sell-out is inevitable. Details below.
