It looks like the rumoured/postponed Coldplay Australian tour will now be happening in November, after an interview with news.com.au revealed that the tour plans will be announced at the end of this month.

Update: Coldplay Australian tour dates and official announcement

The band will play at yet-to-be confirmed “outdoor arenas”, and plans to make the show more interactive will see fans given LED wristbands to create a light show that will be controlled by the band.

Promoter Michael Gudinski let news of the upcoming tour slip in January speaking with Triple M Melbourne’s Eddie McGuire. Eddie revealed:

“I was sitting next to (promoter) Michael Gudinski last night and he said Coldplay are coming out later this year.”

Before, two corporate shows for 2DayFM and Sunrise, were announced in February, only to have them cancelled by the band for “personal reasons”. Coldplay were out here last year playing a one-off show for Splendour in the Grass, with the rest of Australia missing out.

Hopefully this time we’ll get a proper tour locked in. We’ll get some dates at the end of the month.
