Coldplay working on concept album with Eno

Having worked with Brian Eno on their last album 2008 Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends, Coldplay have just announced they will once again be working with the legendary producer and musician on their next album which is set to be a concept album.

“It’s from the point of view of two people who are a bit lost,” frontman Chris Martin explained to the BBC. “Two like-minded outsiders who meet in a very difficult environment and therefore have a journey together.”

The album will see Eno in charge of the soundscapes along with Vida co-producer Marcus Dravs with Chris Martin still writing the basic ideas of the songs. “Brian is the sower of seeds and ideas and experimenting, which is very liberating,” says Martin. “Then Marcus’ job is to come in after all that’s been done and try and sculpt it into some kind of releasable format. ”
