Coldplay’s 2024 Tour of Australia & NZ Balloons to 11 Shows

When Coldplay announced their 2024 tour of Australia and New Zealand in mid-November, it included just five shows – two apiece in Sydney and Melbourne and one in Auckland. However, in response to the internet-shattering popularity of yesterday’s ticket pre-sale, the tour has more than doubled in size.

The UK pop band, led by Chris Martin, will now play four shows at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium, four shows at Sydney’s Accor Stadium and three shows at Eden Park in Auckland, New Zealand. Tickets officially go on sale on Friday, 1st December via the band’s website.

Coldplay – ‘Viva La Vida’

2024 is shaping up the be an enormous year of touring for Martin and co. The Australian tour doesn’t begin until Wednesday, 30th October. In the meantime, they’ll play shows in the Philippines and Singapore (January); Thailand (February); Greece, Romania, Hungary and France (June); Italy, Germany, and Finland (July); Germany, Austria and Ireland (August/September).

It’s all part of the band’s ongoing Music of the Spheres World Tour. The tour kicked off in earnest in March 2022, following the October 2021 release of the band’s ninth studio album, the titular Music of the Spheres. They’ve already marked a trail across North, Central and South America, the UK, Europe, Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia and Malaysia, and played two shows in Perth earlier this month.
