Blur frontman Damon Albarn was joined by guitarist Graham Coxon during his performance at the UK’s Latitude Festival. As Albarn makes the rounds promoting his debut solo effort, Everyday Robots, the Britpop veterans reunited onstage to perform one of Blur’s most enduring hits, Tender.

As Consequence of Sound reports, Albarn has been giving Blur songs a good showing during his recent solo shows — which will be making their way towards Australia at the end of this year — but took things one step further when he brought Coxon out after a solo rendition of End of a Century. Albarn said it would be “impossible” to perform Tender without “the man I wrote it with.”

The current status of Blur was called into question earlier this year after the fallout of the band’s Big Day Out cancellation. Albarn stated back in March that the performance was to be the last ever Blur show and that promoters refused to play ball to make it a “spiritually conclusive” performance.

However, then-Big Day Out promoter AJ Maddah later rubbished Albarn’s comments, saying the band did not quit over financial reasons and were in fact in no state to deliver a “communal event.” Maddah alleged that their tour burned out after the members came to blows in South America.
