In celebration of his debut album Daniel Lee Kendall Is Dead, Central Coast singer-songwriter Daniel Lee Kendall has announced a headlining tour for this November, appropriately titled The Funeral Tour. Featuring shows in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and the Central Coast, the tour will mark Kendall’s return to stages on the east coast.
Daniel Lee Kendall took to touring early on in his career, supporting the likes of Passenger, Old Man River and Hungry Kids of Hungary. After a break from recording and a two-year break from performing, Kendall has returned with new album Daniel Lee Kendall Is Dead, marking his newly-announced tour as something of a paradox.
“It’s kind of weird. These songs are from a former life, so playing them live will almost feel like I’m doing a covers gig. Though that will mean I can take the weight off it a bit and probably enjoy the whole process a lot more,” Kendall says.
“I’ve never done my own tour before, so that’s also an odd little paradox: that my first tour is also my Funeral Tour. I’ll have a really good fun band with me, which I’m stoked about, so I think it’s going to be quite enjoyable.”
Daniel Lee Kendall’s The Funeral Tour begins in Brisbane on 13th November, and will wrap up in Sydney on 5th December. Prior to the tour, Kendall is also set to play a free matinee album launch at Loo Loo’s Warehouse on the NSW Central Coast. More information on the matinee event can be found on the event’s Facebook page.
Dates and ticket information for Daniel Lee Kendall’s The Funeral Tour are available below. Kendall will also be appearing at Brisbane Festival in September.
Daniel Lee Kendall Is Dead is set for release this Friday, 12th September.
