You Am I guitarist and certified legend Davey Lane has been hard at work of late, and this morning sees the first taste of his upcoming debut solo album, Atonally Young. Lane’s maiden full length under his own moniker drops on Friday, 3rd October, but you can hear new song Witch In My Mind right now, exclusively on Music Feeds.
Witch In My Mind is all things good about Australian rock — spacious but not sparse, with an memorable sing-along chorus, strong pop melody, and sweet guitar solo. Solid.
Atonally Young has come to fruition, in part, thanks to fan support. Lane launched a crowdfunding campaign, on Pozible, to help cover the cost of recording and manufacturing his new LP. Setting a target of $15,000, fans surpassed Lane’s expectations, pledging over $18,000 towards the record.
To support the release of Atonally Young Lane and his band, made-up of Eagle & The Worm’s James Fleming and drummer Brett Wolfenden, are hitting the road for a five-date national tour. Tickets are on sale now from various outlets.
