Disclosure, Jagwar Ma Amongst Most Blogged About Artists Of 2013

Hype Machine’s yearly Music Blog Zeitgeist has published its full list of the 50 most blogged about artists of 2013, with English electronic duo Disclosure nabbing top spot. Sydney favourites Jagwar Ma also managed to crack the top ten and ARIA-collecting Flume came in at 21.

The annual list counts down the top 50 artists based on how often they’re mentioned in over 820 prominent music blogs throughout the year. Disclosure’s top billing was no surprise, the duo having held on to the spot since Hype Machine‘s mid year announcement, garnering a heap of internet buzz from their debut record Settle.

Coming in second on the list are fellow debutants, the Glaswegian synthpop trio Chvrches, french alt-rockers Phoenix grabbed third, whilst Mercury prize-winning James Blake slid in at number four. Californian sisters Haim made fifth place, thanks to their soft-rock and r’n’b inspired debut Days Are Gone and Daft Punk‘s widely lauded track of the summer Get Lucky helped the helmet-clad frenchmen secure seventh place.

There were a couple of other Australian contingents keeping Flume and the Jagwar Ma boys company on the taste-making list. Melbourne boys Cut Copy were featured at number 28 and headdress-wearing dance duo Empire Of The Sun, made it in at number 24. New Zealand’s Lorde of course made the list too, you’ll find her at number 17.
