According to Lil Uzi Vert and Grimes, “documentation [is] almost complete” for the rapper to legally own a planet. Doing so will allegedly make him the first human to legally own a planet.
The news, which unfolded on Twitter, stemmed from a post made from the account Latest In Space. The outer-space focused account posted a photo of a light blue and pink planet with the caption “This is WASP-127b, a gas giant exoplanet 1.4x larger than Jupiter orbiting a yellow dwarf star (like ours)!”

Grimes then responded to the tweet, giving a “heads up” saying that Lil Uzi Vert owns this planet.
Baffled fans were quick to respond to the thread, with a range of comments asking how one even comes into legal possession of a planet.
Uzi replied to Grimes, saying that he was going to surprise everyone, but documentation was not yet finalised.
Grimes posted a few hours later confirming that documentation of Uzi’s ownership of the planet is “almost complete.”

Uzi’s potential ownership of a planet raises a tonne of ethical questions, but the rapper has never been one to shy away from particularly eccentric antics.
Remember the time he implanted a massive pink diamond into his forehead so that he wouldn’t lose it? Or that time he and Grimes committed to getting matching chips implanted into their brains?
