Dolly Parton and her goddaughter Miley Cyrus have released a new version of Cyrus’ 2013 hit ‘Wrecking Ball’. The track is set to feature on Parton’s highly anticipated forthcoming album Rockstar, which is due for release Friday, 17th November through Parton’s own label Butterfly Records.
“When I heard ‘Wrecking Ball’ I almost wept in my car,” Parton shared about the track. “When it started into the chorus it hit me like a wrecking ball! I thought how great can a song be and how great can Miley Cyrus be? I thought, I have to have that song on my rock album and I have to have Miley sing it with me! I love it and I hope you do!”

Parton announced the album after being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, saying she now had to live up to being a rockstar.
The guestlist on the album is completely stacked: Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr will reunite on the Beatles‘ ‘Let It Be’ alongside Peter Frampton and Mick Fleetwood; Elton John will rock up to duet with Parton on ‘Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me’; Stevie Nicks joins for the original track ‘What Has Rock and Roll Ever Done for You’; and Debbie Harry hops on for a ‘Heart of Glass’ cover.
We’ve heard a few singles from the album so far, including a cover of Queen’s ‘We Are The Champions’, ‘Bygones’, ‘World on Fire’, and ‘Magic Man’.
