Get ready to party like it’s 1999, because ya m8s at Double J are throwing a monster bash for their month-long celebration of the ’90s, and they’ve assembled a crack team of some of the decade’s most iconic Aussie artists to help them do it.
You Am I, Killing Heidi, Jebediah‘s Kevin Mitchell and motherfkn Gerling have all been recruited to perform at the 20th Century mixer in Sydney, which will be hosted & DJ’d by your fave music presenters Myf Warhurst & Zan Rowe spinning some of the hottest tunes of the last millennium.
And ’90s tunes aren’t the only thing that’ll be rising from the ashes on the night. The big gig will go down at the newly resurrected Lansdowne Hotel, which has been brought back to life “with a fucking vengeance” by the legends behind Newtown’s iconic eats joint Mary’s Burgers.
The re-birthed venue holds extra-special significance for the occasion too, because its beer-stained stage was where You Am I and countless other beloved homegrown acts from the ’90s played some of their first shows.
It’s all set to go down on Saturday, 24th June, with tickets on sale from midday this Thursday, 15th June.
“Please join us as we return to an iconic venue with a quintessential line up to celebrate possibly the best decade of music ever,” Double J spruik in a statement.
You don’t have to tell us twice!
