Ecca Vandal Is Bringing Her New Era Home With Australian Headline Shows This November

Fresh off making her late-night TV debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and tearing through Coachella, Ecca Vandal is officially bringing the chaos back home.

The genre-mutating Australian powerhouse has announced a run of intimate headline shows this November, hitting Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney in celebration of her acclaimed new album LOOKING FOR PEOPLE TO UNFOLLOW.

Ecca Vandal – ‘VERTICAL WORLDS’

And tbh this feels less like a victory lap and more like a homecoming.

Over the past year, Vandal has been operating in full beast mode – making her Coachella debut, supporting Deftones nationally, conquering UK and European stages and unveiling what might be her boldest, most fully realised body of work to date.

Released via Loma Vista Recordings, LOOKING FOR PEOPLE TO UNFOLLOW sees Vandal doubling down on everything that’s always made her impossible to neatly categorise: punk, alt-hip hop, hardcore, electronic textures, South Asian influences and complete creative fearlessness.

But ironically, the album itself came from stepping away.

Recorded and produced by Ecca alongside longtime collaborator Richie Buxton in a makeshift bedroom studio, the record was built during a period of intentional disconnection from algorithm culture and the endless pressure to stay visible online.

“We cut out everything that didn’t serve us – the timelines, the metrics, the pressure to stay visible online,” Vandal explained.

“In Richie’s childhood bedroom, we built a tiny home studio… we wanted to celebrate long-form, the idea of an album as a whole body of work, while the world was chasing 15-second snippets and algorithm-friendly noise.”

That ethos runs all the way through the record. It’s loud, messy, fearless and deeply human.

At its core, LOOKING FOR PEOPLE TO UNFOLLOW feels like an artist refusing to shrink herself to fit whatever version of the internet is trending that week.

Which makes these upcoming headline rooms feel like they could get pretty special.
