You Beauty, Eddy Current Suppression Ring Have Just Announced Their First Show In Years

Melbourne garage-punk legends Eddy Current Suppression Ring made their long-awaited return late last year with a new album entitled All in Good Time, their first in roughly a decade after 2010’s Rush to Relax.

Now, they’ve followed it up by announcing a very stacked headline show at The Triffid in Brisbane for this May, where they’ll be performing alongside The Goon Sax and Blank Realm.

From my calculations, it’ll be the first time the band have performed since 2016, when they ended a five-year long hiatus to headline Golden Plains that year, and stepped in to replace Savages at Dark Mofo.

Since their inception in 2003, Eddy Current have become one of the Australian underground’s most storied acts, and their 2008 album Primary Colours remains one of the best rock records this country has produced in the past decade or so. The band went on hiatus around the time of Rush to Relax, with members keeping busy through projects like Total Control and Boomgates.

The newly-announced Brisbane show is going down Friday, 1st May, and tickets will be available from tomorrow (Thursday, 30th January) at 9am. You bloody ripper.
