Dan Sultan has been a hot property these last few months thanks to his scorching new album, Blackbird. Having made fans sweat with lead single Under Your Skin, the rocker returns ahead of his extensive Blackbird national tour to share the scenic new video for Kimberley Calling.
Back in April, we got Dan to take us through the new album and he explained to us that Kimberley Calling is about “traveling up through the Buccaneer Archipelago in The Kimberley and reconnecting with family up there.” He said the song is “one of the more fun tracks from the album to play live.”
The video continues the song’s themes of personal and cultural identity and of loving the land that you come from. “The Kimberley is an amazing and very special part of the world and I feel quite fortunate for being able to visit so many times. To write and perform a song about it is an honour. I hope the Kimberley can stay just as beautiful as it is now long after we’re all gone,” said Dan.
