EXCLUSIVE: Watch I Killed The Prom Queen’s New Video ‘Thirty One & Sevens’

You better believe it – Australia’s foremost purveyors of modern-day metalcore, I Killed The Prom Queen, are back! Today, Music Feeds is proud to present the world premiere of the band’s brand-new single and video, Thirty One & Sevens, the first to be taken from their highly anticipated third album Beloved.

The triumphant clip, directed by Robot Army Productions (Bodyjar, Anberlin, Amity Affliction) is based in a post-apocalyptic world, and tells the story of two slaves that manage to escape and start a revolution after demonstrating to their slave compatriots that their captors can be defeated.

Filmed in a quarry in Anakie, just outside of Geelong, the mammoth video required a cast and crew of around 50 people. Not known to do things by halves, the IKTPQ gang recruited a makeup artist fresh off the set of the new Mad Max film, Fury Road, so you know that stuff is accurate.

Beloved was recorded with producer Fredrik Nordström (Bring Me The Horizon, At The Gates, In Flames, Dimmu Borgir, Architects) in Sweden. The initial offering from the record, IKTPQ’s first collection of new material in nearly 7 years, came by way of album track 2, To The Wolves.

“We’ve really extended ourselves,” says founding member Jona Weinhofen. “But we’ve done it in a way where it’s tasteful and it makes sense with the music. It’s not like we’ve gone from sounding like a metalcore band to sounding like Dimmu Borgir. It still sounds very much like Prom Queen.”

Beloved is released this Valentine’s Day, 14th February. It’s available for pre-order on iTunes right now, and when you make that pre-order you’ll get an immediate download of Thirty One & Sevens as a bonus. Check out the full track listing below and the album trailer here.
