Fat Freddy’s Drop Announces ‘Blackbird’ Australian Tour Dates, August/Sept 2013

Providers of funky, soulful goodness Fat Freddy’s Drop have announced they will be including Australia in their international celebration inspired by their forthcoming album, Blackbird, which will arrive Down Under on Friday, 21st June giving it enough time to find it’s footing before the band rock up for the tour kicking off late August.

Aussie fans have a pretty solid idea of what we can expect from Freddy’s upon their return. Why, just last year they unveiled an audiovisual album preview at Sydney Opera House in the name of Graphic 2012. The show had onlookers dropping their jaws in amazement and secured a cozy spot on Sydney Morning Herald’s shortlist for best gigs of 2012.

The album, however, is a much more mysterious affair. So far we’ve heard the triple j endorsed Silver And Gold and the first official single from the album Clean The House but neither give away enough for us to gather what it is that Blackbird has in store.

The Drop will only be in town for 4 shows before kicking on to Europe for the 2nd time this year, so be sure to secure your tickets before they’re all gone.

Online Pre-Sale Available Tuesday 28th May from www.fatfreddysdrop.com. General Public On Sale 9am Thursday 30 May.

UPDATE: The Drop has proved to be too damn popular! to combat the crazy demand, organisers have announced new shows for Melbourne, Sydney and Perth. More details below. Tickets to all new shows are now available.
