Father John Misty Shares A Demo Of ‘Come To Mama’, The Song He Wrote For Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga‘s fifth album Joanne has a somewhat surprising list of collaborators from Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker to Josh Homme, but Father John Misty is perhaps one of the most surprising.

He worked on the song Come To Mama which appears on the album and now he’s shared his own demo of the song to congratulate Gaga on the release of the record which dropped yesterday.

The demo is actually very close to the original and interestoingly doubles well as both a Father John Misty and Gaga song which is something we never thought we’d say.

The final version which appears on the album was produced by Gaga alongside Mark Ronson and Bloodpop, who both executive produced the album, as well as Emile Haynie who has worked with A$AP Rocky, Lana Del Rey and more.

This is actually not the first writing credit Father John has picked up on a major release this year. He is credited on Beyoncé’s Hold Up off Lemonade.

Check out both versions below.
