Foals Share New Shred-Heavy Song ‘The Runner’, From Upcoming Album

Foals have backed up their recent release of ‘Black Bull’ with another stellar track ‘The Runner’. It’s another shred-heavy gem and the second offering off of their upcoming album Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Part 2.

It’s full of that classic Foals sound: the fuzzy guitars and dimmed vocals and builds and falls over and over again.

‘The Runner’ is apparently lyrically set in the aftermath that you can hear be described in the last few track on Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 1.

“It’s a call to find a sense of purpose & perseverance despite the odds & despite the troubles we may find inside or outside ourselves,” says frontman, Yannis Philippakis on the release.

Chatting to NME back in July, the frontman said, “It’s a rock record and it definitely carries on the narrative from Part 1. Part 1 ended with a lot of fire and destructive imagery; Part 2 is trying to respond to that: How you can continue in the wreckage and through the scorched earth?”

The Oxford rockers are set to release their new album via Warner Records on Friday, 18th October. Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Part 2 will back up Part 1 which was released in March, earlier this year.
