Courtney Love is slowly losing her rights to the estate of Kurt Cobain, according to documents that have been obtained by The Fix. She’s been out of control of his image since 2009 when the 19-year-old Frances took over publicity rights for the iconic Nirvana frontman’s name, likeness and appearance.
The documents have shown that Love agreed to stand down as Acting Manager of End of Music LLC, which was respnsible for generating revenue from Cobain’s legacy, after she received a $2.75 million loan from Frances’ trust fund in 2010.
Earlier last month Love went on a vicious Twitter rant saying that Dave Grohl had hit on Frances, only to be shut down by Frances herself a few days later.
This just shows that Courtney Love now has little power over her daughter’s affairs; her say in the use of Kurt’s publicity rights is now non-existent; and with Kurt’s music? the BMI catalog shows Larry Mestel, of Primary Wave Music, owns 100% of the administrative rights.
