Gorillaz Announce First Show In Seven Years With Launch Of Their Own Festival

Everyone’s favourite animated band, Gorillaz, have announced their long-awaited return to the live stage, with the launch of their very own music festival, Demon Dayz.

The festival will make its debut at an amusement park in Margate, England this June, and will be Gorillaz’s first live appearance since 2010. The festival will also be broadcast live around the world via Red Bull TV, so Aussie fans should be able to watch the band’s triumphant return as well.

Demon Dayz is being curated by Gorillaz masterminds Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, and will feature three stages with Gorillaz in the headline spot.

No other acts have been announced for the inaugural festival just yet, but more are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. View the official festival poster, below.

Gorillaz returned with a new song earlier this year, in the form of ‘Hallelujah Money’ featuring Benjamin Clementine. The song is the first single to be lifted from a new Gorillaz album, which is reportedly finished and is expected to be released this year.

Gorillaz last performed in Australia back in 2010.
