Grinspoon Are Reuniting For The Cold Chisel Tour

Iconic Aussie rock band Grinspoon, who broke your Chemical Heart back in December 2013 announcing an indefinite hiatus, will be reuniting for a string of shows later this year, supporting Cold Chisel.

With seven albums, 13 ARIA nominations and well over 1,000 shows from their 18-year stint, the group were originally discovered in the first ever triple J unearthed competition in 1995 going on to soundtrack many a noughties teen’s angsty youth (*raises hand*) with such classic albums as New Detention and Thrills, Kills and Sunday Pills.

Frontman Phil Jamieson will take time out of his busy tweeting schedule to get back together with guitarist Pat Davern, bassist Joe Hansen and drummer Kristian Hopes for the Chisel shows in Townsville, Darwin, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney.

“To say we are excited to be supporting Cold Chisel is an understatement,” says Grinners frontman Phil in a press release. “The show we played on the Light The Nitro tour was one of the most memorable shows I have ever played in my life! Arm in arm, all of us – Pat, Joe, Kris and I. Singing at the top of our lungs to ‘Flame Trees’. Grinspoon have NEVER been arm in arm before. It was a moment. I think I may have even fallen into a bush in my excitement.

“I honestly didn’t think Grinspoon would be playing together again, so to get this opportunity by such a legendary act is humbling and completely out of the box insanely totally crazy fun. Now, what the hell am I going to wear?”

The return of Grinspoon is said to be exclusive to the Chisel tour, so if you want to belt along to No Reason in 2015, you’re gonna want to get a hold of some tickets ASAP, details below.

UPDATE 28/08/15: Cold Chisel have added extra dates to their Last Stand Tour. Catch updated tour details, below.
