Canadian indie rock duo Handsome Furs have decided to break up: a message was posted on the group’s Facebook page last night stating that they would be no more, and that they were grateful for all the love and support they’ve had over their 6-year history.
Begun by Wolf Parade’s Dan Boeckner and his wife Alexei Perry, they released three albums, with their last Sound Kapital getting its release last year. They toured Australia in 2009.

“With a heavy heart the time has come to let all of you know that Handsome Furs are no more.
The most important thing that needs to be said right now is how extremely grateful we are to all the fans all over the world that showered us with love and support over the years. Thank you for everything! It’s been an incredible 6 years and we owe it all to you.”
