Hear Chet Faker’s Soulful New Collabs With The Cactus Channel

Melbourne’s very own Chet Faker has teamed up with his fellow Melburnians in 10-piece funk/soul band The Cactus Channel to sneakily drop two super-soulful tracks called Kill The Doubt and Sleeping Alone.

The new collabs from Chet Faker (real name Nicholas Murphy) and the Cactus Channel crew have been released today, with both tracks said to have been in the making for two years.

The wait, of course, is worth it, because Kill The Doubt and Sleeping Alone, which can both be streamed below, pair Chet Faker’s ever-so-smooth vocals with The Cactus Channel’s mix of classic soul and funk tones.

Having spent time in New York working on the follow up to his debut album Built On Glass this year, Chet Faker is coming home to play some huge shows across October and November.

Earlier this year, Chet Faker revealed that his second studio album will be “heavily performance-based”, with less electronic vibes and more “rhythm, groove-based stuff”. His new tracks with The Cactus Channel could even be seen as a small taste of the styles we could possibly see on his next full-length solo effort.

The Cactus Channel and Chet Faker’s Kill The Doubt and Sleeping Alone collabs are streaming in full below, and are available digitally and on 7″ vinyl via HopeStreet Recordings.
