Here’s The Studio Version Of Brand New’s First Song In Six Years, ‘Mene’

Written by Emmy Mack on April 14, 2015

The alternative empire strikes back! American alt-rock legends Brand New have lived up to their name, dropping an official stream of their fresh new track, Mene.

The Long Island five-piece released their first song in six years today after performing it at Coachella 2015 on the weekend. Fans were already familiar with the tune after it premiered live during the band’s recent performances in Denver, but had been mis-labelling it Don’t Feel Anything due to a memorable lyrical hook.

Clocking in at a flash-fire two-and-a-half minutes, the song is a big, noisy, guitar-driven return to form for the group, whose fifth LP is now coming into clear view on the horizon. The best part? You can also download it for free for a limited time from the band’s website.

Midway through last year, Brand New confirmed that they had hit the studio to begin recording the long-awaited follow-up to 2009’s Daisy, and it seems that the fruits of that labour are now starting to drop off the proverbial tree.

Sink your teeth into the juiciness of Mene, below.
