International Act Pulls Out Of Splendour In The Grass 2018, Replacement Announced

Canadian electro-funk duo Chromeo have cancelled their scheduled appearance at Splendour In The Grass 2018, as well as their planned festival sideshows.

In a statement to fans, the group say health concerns are partly to blame.

“We are truly sorry to announce that our upcoming July shows in Sydney, Melbourne and Splendour In The Grass have been canceled,” the duo say.

“It’s been so long since we’ve visited you last and we were so excited to play for you. Unfortunately, the rigors of our touring schedule have caught up with us and we need to prioritize our health and well being.

“We’re being told that this period would be best served as a time to rest. This was not an easy call to make. We hope you understand. Please know that we’re doing everything we can to reschedule our time in Australia. We will see you all soon.”

Splendour In The Grass organisers have announced that Aussie electro legends The Presets will be replacing Chromeo on this year’s lineup, off the back of their latest album HI VIZ.

Chromeo were scheduled to perform sideshows in Melbourne and Sydney during Splendour In The Grass. Tickets to those shows will now be refunded.

Splendour added two new acts to its 2018 lineup last month, following the results of a triple j Unearthed competition.

The festival is set to return to North Byron Parklands between between Friday, 20th and Sunday, 22nd July. View the just-announced food lineup here, music lineup here and all of the festival sideshows right here.
