Jack White No Longer Doing Music For ‘The Lone Ranger’

Jack White has pulled the pin on his involvement in Director Gore Verbinski’s upcoming American action film The Lone Ranger.

White was previously announced to be working on the score for the big-budget film, but according to Indiewire and Rolling Stone, Disney have now replaced him with Hans Zimmer.

A statement from Disney attributes “scheduling conflicts” as the reason behind White’s departure from the film:

“Oscar winner Hans Zimmer, the musical mastermind behind Disney’s and Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ Pirates of the Caribbean, has signed on to compose the score for The Lone Ranger. Jack White, who had originally been contemplated to score and has contributed several pieces of music to the production, was logistically unavailable due to scheduling conflicts that arose when the film’s release moved to July of 2013,” the statement read.

The Lone Ranger – which stars Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer – is scheduled for a July 3 release next year.
