Jack White To Make World’s Fastest Released Record

In honour of Record Store Day this April 19th, vinyl advocate Jack White will attempt to enter the Guinness Book of World Records for the fastest-ever released record in the history of mankind. The record will go from studio-to-store in just one day.

The former White Stripes man and entrepreneurial record producer will take the stage at the blue room of his Third Man Records label HQ in Nashville in front of a live audience and record direct-to-acetate what will serve as the limited edition version of his next single, the title track from his upcoming LP Lazaretto.

The masters will be rushed to United Record Pressing, which will immediately begin pressing 45s with photos taken at the gig to serve as album artwork. The finished records will be whisked back to Third Man to sell to awaiting fans.

As long as there are fans in line waiting to buy the single, United will continue to press and deliver them to Third Man to sell. Michigan band Whirlwind Heat will also play their first live show since 2006 at Third Man that day.

Just this week Jack White announced his new solo record and dropped a blistering new instrumental teaser track, High Ball Stepper.
