James Murphy Remixes David Bowie For ‘The Next Day’ Collectors Edition

LCD Soundsystem may be no more but thankfully James Murphy is showing no signs of going anywhere, with his remix of the one and only David Bowie‘s Love Is Lost turning up online after debuting on BBC Radio 6 Music earlier today.

The 10-minute track, given the Hello Steve Reich Mix title, is set for release as part of a special 3-disc collector’s edition of Bowie’s highly-acclaimed The Next Day, his first album in a decade. The set will feature the original album, as well as a 10-track companion disc with five previously unheard tracks, two remixes, and a third disc featuring four videos from the album.

The Next Day has been a surprise smash for Bowie, with the record the odds-on favourite to take home this year’s Mercury Prize, announced on 30th October. Bowie also provided vocals on the latest Arcade Fire record, Reflektor, which features production from none other than James Murphy. Circles, y’all.

The Next Day Extra is released in Australia Friday, 8th November.
