Just days before their shows supporting Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, a reformed Jet have announced a homecoming headline show for fans at Collingwood’s Gasometer Hotel, next bloody week.
Returning to their pub rock roots, the intimate show will be the band’s first live appearance in over six years and a chance for loyal hometown fans to reconnect with the beloved rock exports. It’s also being billed as Jet’s only Melbourne headline show and tickets are limited.
The last time that the Melbourne rockers played a show was all the way back in 2010, supporting Powederfinger on their Sunsets farewell tour.
Speaking to Music Feeds recently about their reformation, bassist Cameron Muncey said that while there aren’t any new plans beyond these few shows, “never say never”.
“There’s no plan behind this, currently, there’s no agenda. It’s just purely ‘let’s do this, this’ll be fun’. Which I think is a good way to do things because it’s just – there’s no ulterior motive, you know? It’s fun. We’re just gonna play a sick show.”
Sydney based fans will be able to catch Jet play as part of the Twilight at Taronga series this February.
