Joey Jordison Says Slipknot Fired Him Via Email Because They Thought He Was A Druggo

Joey Jordison has revealed more details about his shock departure from Slipknot in 2013.

At the time, we were told that the metal titans’ founding drummer had left for “personal reasons”, while the stickman more recently explained that a neurological disorder is what prevented him from continuing to perform with the band he helped start in 1995.

But in a new interview with Metal Hammer, the beatman claims his departure from The Nine was a lot messier than we were led to believe.

Describing his ousting as “cowardly”, Jordo says that he was fired by email, apparently because Corey Taylor & co mistook his health issues for a drug problem.

“No band meeting? None. Anything from management? No, nothing. All I got was a stupid fucking email saying I was out of the band that I busted my ass my whole life to fucking create,” Jordison said.

“That’s exactly what happened and it was hurtful. I didn’t deserve that shit after what I’d done and everything I’d been through.”

He continued: “They got confused about my health issues and obviously even I didn’t know what it was at first. They thought I was fucked up on drugs, which I wasn’t at all.”

“I’ve been through so many things with those guys and I love them very much. What’s hurtful is the way it went down was not fucking right. That’s all I want to say. The way they did it was fucking cowardly. It was fucked up.”

At the time of writing, no current members of Slipknot have responded to their ex-drummer’s accusations.

Jordison has also recently stated that he’d be keen to reunite with his masked exes if they were willing to sit down with him and hash it all out.

Meanwhile, you can catch Slipknot, sans Jordison, touring Australia this October.
