Here’s The Trailer For The Feature-Length Johnny Cash Documentary Coming To YouTube Next Month

On Monday, 11th November, a new Johnny Cash documentary called The Gift: The Journey of Johnny Cash will be available to stream free on YouTube.

Having premiered earlier this year as part of the SXSW Film Festival, The Gift explores the life and career of the legendary country musician. Directed by Thom Zimny and with an original score by Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready, the documentary will featuring newly-discovered archival footage and interviews with Cash’s family and friends.

With contributions from the likes of Rosanne and John Carter Cash, Bruce Springsteen, Robert Duvall and Emmylou Harris, It covers both the highlights of Cash’s career along with his losses and battles with addiction.

“Johnny Cash believed he was born to sing and perform. But his gift was not without hardship,” reads the film’s description.

“Discover the true story of Johnny’s rise, fall, and rebirth from his own words as well as those closest to him. Catch The Gift when it premieres November 11.”

The Gift isn’t the only Johnny Cash content coming to us in November, however. As reported last month, November 1 will see a previously unheard session Cash did with Bob Dylan from 1969 as part of a new instalment of Dylan’s ‘Bootleg Sessions’ series.
