Rapper Killer Mike Arrested After Winning Three Grammy Awards

Killer Mike faced a turn of events shortly after securing three Grammy Awards at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday. The rapper was taken into custody by the police just before the awards ceremony aired on TV.

According to the Los Angeles police, Rapper Killer Mike’s arrest was connected to a ‘physical altercation’ at the 700 block of Chick Hearn Court, where Crypto.com Arena is located. The police identified him by his real name Michael Render. However, further details of the case remain undisclosed.

Killer Mike Wins Three Grammy Awards, Beats Drake, Kendrick Lamar and Nicki Minaj

Killer Mike won Grammys in all of the categories he was nominated for such as Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance, and Best Rap Album for his 2023 studio album “Michael”. He beat rap’s biggest names like Drake, Kendrick Lamar and Nicki Minaj to win in all rap categories. This marked a significant milestone for Killer Mike, considering it had been over twenty years since his last Grammy victory.

Killer Mike expressed his joy and gratitude during his acceptance speeches, emphasizing the fulfilment of his childhood dream of being part of the music industry. “I’m a Black man in America, and as a kid, I had a dream to become a part of music.” He also said, “And that 9-year-old is excitedly dancing inside of me right now. You cannot tell me that you get too old, you can’t tell me it’s too late, you can’t tell me dreams come true! It is a sweep, it is a sweep, it is a sweep!”
