Lamb Of God, Killer Be Killed Sidewaves Announced

Virginian natives Lamb Of God and Soundwave’s resident supergroup Killer Be Killed and special some soon to be announced special guests will play Sidewaves in Sydney and Melbourne this February in addition to their sets at Soundwave 2015.

On top of the heavy metal supergroup’s much anticipated debut live performance at Soundwave, Lamb Of God, Killer Be Killed and yet to be announced special guests will take the stage at Melbourne’s 170 Russell on Tuesday 24th February and Sydney’s Metro Theatre on Thursday 26th February.

Led by frontman Randy Blythe, Lamb Of God will play tracks from their extensive discography while Killer Be Killed will make their first non-festival performances, playing tracks from their self-titled debut album which dropped in May 2014.

The band comprises of The Dillinger Escape Plan vocalist Greg Puciato, Soulfly frontman Max Cavalera, Mastodon bassist Troy Sanders and former The Mars Volta drummer Dave Elitch – who will be replaced by Converge drummer Ben Koller at Soundwave, while Elitch plays with his other band, Antemasque.

“It made perfect sense for Killer to be playing for the first time in Australia,” Greg Puciato told Music Feeds. “There was briefly discussion of doing a warmup show in L.A. We decided against it, because we wanted it to be symbolic for Australia. Consider it a thank-you gift.”

“It’s really exciting,” he adds. “We’ve never even been on stage together. There’s a massive difference between playing in a room together and playing on a stage. The energy is going to be very different for these shows.”

This week, guitarist Max Cavalera revealed the Killer Be Killed Soundwave set will also feature covers of songs by the members’ other projects as well as maybe some surprise renditions. “Some covers would be cool like some Motorhead, Bad Brains or some Ramones,” he said.

Tickets go on sale Tuesday, 24th January from 9:00am local time. See tour dates and ticketing information below. For more Sidewaves info, check our details page or follow our Sidewaves Feed.
