Laneway Festival 2016 Loses An Act But Gains Another

Laneway Festival has some good news and bad news for us today announcing that Tobias Jesso Jr. has had to cancel his appearances at the festival and Royal Headache will be joining the lineup to fill the void.

Organisers says that Jesso Jr. has had to pull out due to “conflicting commitments with his songwriting and recording obligations.”

“I’m sorry to let anyone down, and appreciate all of your love, support, and understanding,” Jesso Jr. said to his Australian fans in a statement.

As well as the five Australian festival dates, the LA crooner was also due to play two sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne. They have also been cancelled and tickets will be automatically refunded to ticketholders.

Jesso Jr. has had a massive year off the back of his debut album Goon. He’s been selling out shows all around the world and recently wrote When We Were Young for Adele’s latest album 25.

Sydney band Royal Headache have now been added to the bill and will play all Australian dates. They released their second album High this year and are known for raucous, energetic shows.

Laneway will kick off in Singapore at the end of January before making its way to New Zealand and then to Oz. Flume, Grimes, Hudson Mohawke and many more are all set to play.

UPDATE 22/01/16: The official 2016 Laneway maps & set times have been unveiled.
