Legion 2016 Is Now Open To Under 18’s

Soundwave-replacement festival Legion is evolving at a rapid-fire pace. It was just days ago that the event dropped its first lineup announcement, and another three big-name acts were added to the bill just earlier today.

Now, the festival has evolved once again.

Though previously devised as an 18+ event, organisers have just announced that they’ve rejigged the logistics to allow punters of all ages to attend.

“Once again, the fans have spoken!” Legion organisers posted on Facebook. “We decided to make the event 18+ for a number of reasons – but A LOT of you spoke up. So we went back to the drawing board and moved some stuff around and we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve managed to make it work.”

Those under the age of 15 will have to be accompanied by a parent or guardian, though.

Australia’s first fan-funded heavy music festival is still a fair whack short of its whopping $3.25 million crowdfunding target. At the time of writing, fans have pledged almost $136,000 with 19 days remaining in the campaign.

The official festival dates for Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth have also been announced, with Legion organisers mapping out the exact budget breakdown required for each event (below).

The festival will only be able to use the crowdfunded cash if it successfully hits its lofty crowdfunding goal, and punters wanting to lend a hand to help this happen can do so via Legion’s Pozible campaign here.

Once again, the fans have spoken! We decided to make the event 18+ for a number of reasons – but A LOT of you spoke up….
