Alt-J have released a new song titled Buffalo, which is set to appear on the soundtrack for the new film Silver Linings Playbook, which hits Australian cinemas January 13, 2013. According to NME, Buffalo features guest vocals from American folk trio Mountain Man.
By the looks of the soundtrack, Silver Linings Playbook is going to have some damn fine music, with Alt-J appearing alongside the likes of Eagles of Death Metal, Alabama Shakes, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash.
It’s been a cracker year for Alt-J, who recently won the Barclaycard Mercury Music Prize for their album An Awesome Wave. Again according to NME, Alt-J’s nomination for the prize prompted record sales to spike by 411 per cent for an eight-week period, with almost 46,000 units sold since September 21 when nominations were announced.
Alt-J have also recently been announced as part of South By Southwest 2013.
