Listen: City Riots New Single ‘Wait For You’

South Australian quartet City Riots have recently unveiled their latest single, which goes by the name of Wait For You. Tapping into the stream of dream pop/rock that is so prevalent in today’s indie music, Wait For You is an existential sketch of an protagonist ‘standing outside of their own skin’ trying to reflect on the past a changed person from who they once were.

Driven by intertwining guitars that jangle and echo off into the distance, Wait For You glides along in a non-abrasive manner with a warm vibe that splashes against the banks of your ears like a subtle tide. Lyrically the song moves onto settings of summer, running through fields and summoning images of a carefree youth when there was nothing but time to wait for the warmer seasons.

The song builds to a crescendo of splashy guitars proficiently wielded before settling back into the title invoking chorus and leaves you with the desire to escape your office confines and seek adventure on the nearest coast.

Wait For You is the lead singles lifted from City Riots’ forthcoming debut record Sea Of Bright Lights, which will be out October 26, 2012 Australia and New Zealand via Inertia.
