The powers of Rihanna and Eminem combined proved to be a winner back in 2010 when they dropped their smash Love The Way You Lie and they’re back together for a track from Em’s new record, MMLP2 (The Marshall Mathers LP 2), with the duet simply titled The Monster.
The track, which premiered on Em’s own digital radio station Shady 45, is also streaming over on the Shady Records SoundCloud. It’s a pretty standard cut from the duo – a catchy, repetitive hook from the Barbados-born pop starlet and some increasingly frantic verses from the Detroit rapper. The Monster is a far cry from the technical wizardry on the last track we heard from Eminem, Rap God, but you can still expect to hear a clean version of it on your radio so many times that you never want to hear it again by Christmas.
The real Slim Shady will be releasing MMLP2, which features production work from Aussie M-Phazes, in Australia on Tuesday, 5th November, and recently announced he’ll be headlining Rapture, a new hip hop tour/festival curated by Em himself. Rapture is heading to Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne next February.
