Newcastle singer-songwriter FRITZ is making her return today, with the announcement of her forthcoming second album. To celebrate the announcement, she’s also dropped her new single ‘Die Happily’.
‘Die Happily’ marks the latest taste we’ve heard from the new album Pastel, which is due out mid next month. It’s a breezy and fuzzy number, with the similar balance of crunch and silk that you can find in work by Soccer Mommy and Snail Mail.
“‘Die Happily’ is about wanting to be around a best friend forever and treasuring every moment spent with them,” FRITZ (aka Tilly Murphy) said of the song.
“I think the phrase “die happily” isn’t used enough… I think its very powerful and perfectly sums up the way I felt when I was living these moments with my friends.”
Of the album, FRITZ said, “I started writing this album 3 years ago. It reflects my growth musically and personally over the past three years. It’s a body of work that truly represents my becoming of a young adult from a teenager.”
Pastel is out Friday, 12th February.
