Lorde Is Releasing New Single ‘Stoned At The Nail Salon’ Tomorrow

We’re one month away from Lorde’s much anticipated third album and it looks like she’s ready to drop the album’s second single, ‘Stoned at the Nail Salon’.

As per the artist’s official website, Lorde’s next single, ‘Stoned at the Nail Salon’, is set to arrive on Wednesday, July 21st. It’s the second taste of Lorde’s upcoming album, Solar Power, following the album’s title track, which landed in early June.

‘Solar Power’ essentially turned the internet into one doting, guffawing monolith. The track shares similarities with the Rolling Stones’ ‘Sympathy For the Devil’, George Michael’s ‘Freedom ’90’ and Primal Scream’s ‘Loaded’, though Lorde claims any crossover was entirely unintentional. Both singles and the rest of the upcoming album were produced and written alongside Lorde’s Melodrama collaborator, Jack Antonoff.

It’s now been four years since the New Zealand artist born Ella Yelich-O’Connor released Melodrama. That record built on the blockbuster success of Lorde’s debut, Pure Heroine, which came out when Yelich-O’Connor was just 17 years old.

Solar Power is due out on Friday, August 20th, with Lorde bringing the album tour to Australian capital cities in March 2022.
