Lou Doillon Pulls Out Of So Frenchy So Chic 2014

Representatives of French songstress Lou Doillon have announced that the French Grammy Award-winner has been hospitalised and as a result has cancelled her upcoming Australian tour, including her sets at So Frenchy So Chic in the Park planned for Melbourne and Sydney.

“It is a heart-breaking decision (to cancel). I was really looking forward to visiting Australia for the first time but unfortunately my medical condition makes it impossible to travel. I really hope to be able to come back later,” states Doillon in a letter shared by So Frenchy So Chic promoter Cartell Music.

The event will be going ahead, with a Cartell Music rep stating, “I have spoken to all remaining artists, Lilly Wood & The Prick, Fefe and Babylon Circus, and they are committed to making the day special with extended sets and a special collaboration between Babylon Circus and Fefe.”

With Edward Deer opening the day with songs from the acclaimed Mélodie Française album, promoters remain enthusiastic, saying, “It will still be a wonderful day, with 28 artists creating an atmosphere that will enchant and delight. We’re looking forward to sharing it with you.”

Letter From Cartell Music Re: Lou Doillon

Dear So Frenchy So Chic in the Park attendees,

Today we received the unfortunate news from Paris that Lou Doillon has been hospitalised and a result has had to cancel her Australian tour. In a letter received by Cartell Music she says: “It is a heart-breaking decision (to cancel). I was really looking forward to visiting Australia for the first time but unfortunately my medical condition makes it impossible to travel. I really hope to be able to come back later.”

While this is unfortunate, the great news is that the event will go on. I have spoken to all remaining artists, Lilly Wood & The Prick, Fefe and Babylon Circus, and they are committed to making the day special with extended sets and a special collaboration between Babylon Circus and Fefe. Also on the bill is Edward Deer, who will open the day with songs from the highly acclaimed Mélodie Française.

We are really looking forward to So Frenchy So Chic in Sydney and Melbourne. For those who have followed the So Frenchy So Chic experience since its inception in 2005, we thank you for your loyalty. The Cartell Music team has worked incredibly hard over the past 6 months to create a memorable day for you, so we hope you’ll accept our sincerest apologies for this last-minute change to the advertised line-up. It’s a labor of love for us, and all the artisans involved (artists, food stalls, caterers and kids zone); we’re dedicated to offering you a unique experience of joie de vivre.

It will still be a wonderful day, with 28 artists creating an atmosphere that will enchant and delight. We’re looking forward to sharing it with you.

Best Regards,

Jean-Francois Ponthieux
