Matt Healy Teases New Album From Former Incarnation Of The 1975, Drive Like I Do

Well isn’t this INTERESTING.

The 1975‘s Matt Healy is hyping a new album, under his band’s former moniker ‘Drive Like I Do’.

Sharing a snap on Instagram of his pre-1975 band performing live in Newcastle back in 2005, a fan commented, “we want a new DLID record,” to which Healy responded simply: “ok”.

He then went on to point fans towards a newly created Insta page @drivelikeido, which currently contains two cryptic posts.

Later, during an Instagram Live chat, Healy was asked when the new DLID album would be released.

“Probably like February,” he responded.

It comes after Healy revealed he’s been working on getting some of the old Drive Like I Do tracks remastered.

“I’m getting the old stuff remastered and I’m basically going to put out the first album, the album that never was released,” Healy told NME back in May.

“And then we’ll follow that up with a new album. There’s so much Drive Like I Do stuff that was great that there’s not even demos of, so I’m going to record those songs and put them out with the two records that do kind of technically exist in the world.”

Watch this space, we guess!
