McKisko Announces Supports

Brisbane songstress McKisko is gearing up to launch her debut album Glorio this month, and is pleased to announce her support acts for album launches across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

McKisko will be supported by Seagull and Otouto on Wednesday 25 March at the Northcote Social Club in Melbourne, Rand and Holland and Caitlin Park on Thursday 26 March at The Supper Club in Sydney, and Carry Nation on Sunday 5 April at The Troubadour in Brisbane.

McKisko is Helen Franzmann, a Brisbane-based musician who began her musical career writing and performing in redbreast, and has since collaborated with Tom Cooney, Jacob S. Harris and Jamie Trevaskis of Junkship Studios.

After time abroad living in Dublin, London and Barcelona, McKisko returned to Australia and has since toured the country non-stop. Recently McKisko has played a string of shows across the east coast with her international contemporaries Bon Iver (USA), Juana Molina (Argentina) and Jose Gonzales (Sweden).

Incorporating keys, guitar, melodica, percussion and the subtle use of a loop pedal, Franzmann’s songs sway between delicately layered lullabies and emotionally charged assaults. Her songs are built using inventive instrumentation, an intimate honesty, and a lyricism that journeys through abstract landscapes imbued with emotion.

Glorio is a hauntingly beautiful debut album from an accomplished musician, and will be released on March 21 on El Nino El Nino Records / Inertia. Don’t miss your chance to catch McKisko launch Glorio across the east coast during March and April.
