Aussie trio Methyl Ethel have unleashed a new track No. 28 off a forthcoming second record.
The track was premiered on triple j earlier tonight where it was revealed that they have a new album in the works, the follow-up to 2015’s self-titled effort.
The record was co-produced by Jake Webb from the band and British producer James Ford. Ford is part of Simian Mobile Disco and has also produced for Arctic Monkeys, HAIM and Florence And The Machine.
Methyl Ethel have gone from strength to strength since the release of their debut. Twilight Driving became an Aussie favourite, they were a huge buzz name at SXSW this year and they’ve just announced a world tour.
They’re not forgetting where they came from though. They announced Aussie dates on that world tour which will no doubt see them give a few tracks from the new album a spin.
No word yet on when to expect the second record but here’s hoping it’s soon.
