London’s alternative electro-pop foursome Metronomy have announced three Splendour In The Grass 2014 sideshows. Touring in support of their well-received fourth studio album Love Letters, they’re bringing their mosh-ready melodies to Perth, Sydney and Melbourne in July alongside fellow Splendour friends Circa Waves.
The Mercury prize-nominated group were thrust into the mainstream spotlight with 2011’s stellar release The English Riveria. 2014’s Love Letters, which was recorded in an all analog studio in Hackney, further emphasises frontman Joseph Mount‘s knack for pop melodies and heartfelt lyricism, and has solidified Metronomy as one of the UK’s strongest indie acts.
Supporting Metronomy at their headline shows will be the young Liverpool four-piece Circa Waves, who recently played alongside big-name acts like Interpol, Temples and Royal Blood during the 2014 NME Awards Tour.
Metronomy’s Splendour In The Grass sideshows will take place at Perth’s Astor Theatre, Melbourne’s Forum Theatre and Sydney’s Metro Theatre. Full tour details below.
